Well I guess I wanted to engage with my LGBT community in Swansea, but without having to go to clubs and pubs which is not really my thing, although I've done plenty of that in my time.  I was looking for a fun friendly like minded group, with a common interest.
I have to say, having never really sung with other people before, I was really worried I couldn't do it, but the whole group is very supportive, and I soon got the hang of things and started to push my self... as they say practice make perfect.
One thing I really like is that none of the group are full of themselves, we're all able to laugh at our mistakes.  It's not all about the singing either, there's always the the social side too.  We've just arranged our Christmas party, and there's talk of doing something for Halloween, and maybe, weather permitting, we may get a BBQ in before the end of the summer, fingers crossed.

I joined the choir because i was in a rut and wanted to meet new people.I LOVE IT!!I was very nervous at first, didnt know anyone, but that was short lived.Everyone was so lovely and i now consider them all to be good friends of mine.We really care about eachother and gel so well.I never thought in a million years, that i would stand up infront of people and sing on my own,but i have and you know what,i feel proud to do it.We have such a laugh too and thats very important and when one of us starts giggling, thats it,we all end up in hysterics!!If you are reading this and are wondering whether to join,DO IT,you have nothing to lose and so much to gain.My name is Jackie and i am your "meet n greet" person and would love to see more people join us,what are you waiting for!!!

Hi
I’m a mature gay guy who after years of hiding my sexuality came out in the early part of 2020. I’m not into gay dating sites and there seems to be a lack of gay bars and gay venues in Swansea. I thought that by joining something like the True Colours Gay choir would allow me to mix with other gay guys.
